A Book by Keyshuna Cole

The Inner
Debate

For the conversations we have with ourselves when no one else is listening.

A collection of poetry and reflection designed to create space for the questions, emotions, contradictions, and conversations we often carry quietly.

More Than a Collection of Poems

Some Conversations Happen
Entirely Within Us.

The Inner Debate creates room for those conversations. It brings poetry and intentional reflection together to explore the tension between who we’ve been, what we’ve experienced, what we believe, and who we may be becoming.

It isn't a book that asks you to have everything figured out. It's an invitation to become more honest about the questions.

01

Poetry

Words for experiences and emotions that aren't always easy to name out loud.

02

Reflection

Space to pause, process, and consider what the words bring forward for you.

03

Conversation

Questions that can begin internally—and sometimes become the conversations we need to have with others.

Why I Wrote It

I Needed Somewhere for the Questions to Go.

Before The Inner Debate became something I could share, it was a place for me to tell myself the truth.

Life has a way of asking us questions before we're ready to answer them. Questions about identity. About loss. About relationships. About resilience. About the versions of ourselves we've outgrown and the ones we're still trying to understand.

Writing became a way to sit with those contradictions instead of rushing past them. The poems gave language to what I was feeling. The reflection created space to understand what those feelings might be trying to tell me.

Eventually, I realized those conversations weren't mine alone. So I created the kind of book I would have wanted in those moments—one that doesn't tell you what to think, but gives you somewhere to think honestly.

Sometimes moving forward begins with finally listening to the conversation happening within.

The Conversation Doesn’t End With the Last Page

Sometimes the First Step
Is Simply Having the Conversation.

Sometimes a book gives us language.
Sometimes it gives us permission.
Sometimes it gives us the first question we were finally ready to ask.

In the Hands of Readers

And Then the Book
Became Theirs.

One of my favorite parts of releasing The Inner Debate has been watching it leave my hands and find its way into someone else’s story. Different people. Different seasons. Different conversations sparked by the same pages.

Every copy carries the same words.
Every reader brings a different story to them.

Have your own Inner Debate moment? Tag or share it with me. I love seeing where the conversation travels.
